With the release of the Wildfire & Landscape Resilience Interagency Treatment Dashboard, the Task Force is committed to helping all of our partner agencies announce and spread the word about this important and valuable new tool.

Included below is a set of resources to help your organization promote the Dashboard in your communications. The goal is to make it easy for you and consistent in both messaging and identity across all partner agencies.

Thank you in advance for using these resources to help promote this critical tool for providing transparency on progress made towards the ambitious goals established in the Task Force’s Action Plan.

HOW TO USE THIS KIT

• Use the Strategic Messaging to ensure your communication are in line with how the Task Force and other partners are referring to the Dashboard.

• Download Media Assets for use in your communications to ensure consistency with how the Dashboard is being visualized and its graphic identity.

HOW TO PROMOTE THE DASHBOARD

Your organization fulfills a unique role in the Task Force Action Plan, so your perspective on the Dashboard may vary. Feel free to adapt the communications to fit the needs and purposes of your organization.

• Press Release and Media Relations – The Task Force Press Release is included below, but your organization may choose to issue a press release that speaks to the specifics of your involvement in the Dashboard or how it effects your work.

• E-newsletter – Copy and graphics are included below to use in your email communications to your subscribers.

• Social Media:

– The Task Force Social Media Calendar related to the Dashboard is included here. Be sure to follow the posts and engage, like, share, comment, and promote as appropriate.

– Along with the Strategic Messaging for wording, sized graphic files are included to use as original posts in your social media channels, along with a list of hashtags.

STRATEGIC MESSAGING

The messaging language provides an overview of the Dashboard in verbiage approved for release to the public. To maintain consistency, pull from this copy for your communications related to the Dashboard, including newsletters, press releases and social media.

What Is The Dashboard:
The Wildfire & Landscape Resilience Interagency Treatment Dashboard (the Dashboard) is a first-of-its-kind Treatment Dashboard that displays wildfire and landscape resilience treatment projects from state and federal agencies across California into a single web-based interactive tool. The Dashboard offers a one-stop-shop to access data to track progress toward statewide resiliency targets, facilitate project collaboration on planning and monitoring, and align interagency efforts to collectively build resilient landscapes and communities in California.

Why Is It Important:
As California works toward its ambitious goals for treating forest and natural areas to reduce wildfire risk, transparency and effective planning tools are critical keys to success. To that goal, the Dashboard provides a single source for displaying recently completed (2022) forest and wildland projects from over a dozen different federal and state agencies. By charting the work of what has been accomplished to date, the Dashboard can be used to guide practitioners on where to plan new projects.
