goal 4

Innovate & Measure Progress

The state continues to invest in inventory and monitoring programs to understand the status of and trends within forests and other natural lands. Data gathered from these efforts are key inputs into modeling efforts that provide an understanding of the past, present, and future of forests, fire, and climate in California. Aligning efforts of state, federal and local agencies is essential to develop comprehensive assessments and strategies for improving the health and resilience of the state’s forested lands.

Monitoring, Reporting and Assessment

Focused on expanding and improving monitoring, reporting and decision support tools including a unified treatment tracking system and a Forest Data Hub that will serve as a multi-institutional information clearing house
